Stereotype Activity: In our project Breakfree 2.0 in the beginning as a whole class we all attempted to write stereotypes about Mexicans, White, Asians, and Blacks that we have heard of and write it onto the sign. Reason why we did this so we could raise awareness not just to ourselves but to many others that had/have been given an label just by the appearance. By doing this we wanted to make people's minds see the causes behind it and make it institutionalized for racism go away. We made the same activity at exhibition for people to note down what they have heard. In this project we all made a video and choose a topic to specifically work on. Art pieces with an artist statement, spoken word or Ted talk. And a Rockestra . All of this took place at Queen Bee's located in North Park. Readings of Discrimination: Throughout this project we were handed many readings that we related to the project. All the readings and the same word coming up it would be Stereotypes. Many forms of stereotypes can influence they way a person thinks of another. Breakfree 2,0 are main goal was to target specific areas where they seem to be brought up more, and make the public think deeper on what society labels them.
